A delicious appetizer featuring toasted bread topped with creamy burrata and fresh tomato-basil mixture.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 piece Baguette or Italian loaf (sliced into ½-¾" (1-2cm) thick slices)
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil (divided)
  • 1-2 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 2-3 cups Cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
  • ¼ red onion Red onion (very thinly sliced)
  • ½ cup Basil (chopped or torn)
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • to taste Kosher salt and black pepper
  • 1 large Burrata ball (or two small ones)

Garnish

  • Flaky salt, balsamic glaze, olive oil, more basil (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Toast the bread slices, then rub with olive oil and garlic.
  • Mix cherry tomatoes, red onion, basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss and adjust seasoning.
  • Break open the burrata and top each toasted bread slice with some burrata.
  • Add tomato mixture on top, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze, then garnish with flaky salt and basil.

Notes

Use fresh basil for best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
