A flavorful and hearty burrito recipe combining seasoned beef, rice, and melted cheeses, topped with fresh salsa and cilantro for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat and Rice

  • 1 lb ground beef (fresh beef browns evenly and gives a richer flavor.)
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion (adds natural sweetness and depth; fresh is best.)
  • 2 cloves garlic (fresh garlic gives a stronger, more vibrant aroma.)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (quick and full of bold flavor.)
  • 0.5 cup water (helps blend the seasoning with the beef.)
  • 1 cup cooked rice (freshly cooked rice stays fluffy and absorbs juices well.)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (grate fresh for maximum melt and flavor.)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (adds gooey stretch and creamy balance.)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (soft tortillas roll easily without tearing.)
  • 1 cup salsa (chunky salsa adds brightness and moisture.)
  • 0.5 cup sour cream (for serving – gives a cool, creamy finish.)
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish – adds color and freshness.)

Instructions

  • Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Divide rice and beef mixture among tortillas; top with cheeses. Roll tightly.
  • Place burritos seam-side down in a baking dish; pour salsa over and sprinkle extra cheese. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Garnish with cilantro and serve warm with sour cream.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add hot sauce or jalapeños to the filling.
