Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup confectioner’s (powdered) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider
  • 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup

Instructions 

  • Reduce apple cider in a saucepan until ¼ cup remains, then cool.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar, then add egg and reduced cider, beating until smooth.
  • Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture, then chill dough for 10-15 minutes.
  • Shape dough into balls, flatten slightly, and bake at 375°F for 7-9 minutes.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, apple cider, and maple syrup for glaze, then drizzle over cookies.
