Ingredients

Pecans

  • 1 ¾ cups pecan halves
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cubed and cold)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • flaky salt for sprinkling (optional) flaky salt

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment and spray with cooking spray.
  • Toast pecans in a dry pan over medium heat for 10 minutes, then cool and chop.
  • Make crust by pulsing flour, brown sugar, and salt; add butter and pulse until crumbly. Press into pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Mix corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Whisk in eggs, then fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  • Pour filling over crust and bake for 25 minutes until set. Cool for 2 hours before cutting.

Notes

Sprinkle with flaky salt before serving for extra flavor.
