Ingredients

Meat

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 0.25 cup honey (85 g)
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce (60 ml, low-sodium or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (30 ml)
  • 3 pieces green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups cooked white rice (jasmine or basmati preferred, 960 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, 5 ml)
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cook the ground beef in a skillet until crispy and browned.
  • Add minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes; cook until sauce thickens.
  • Serve the beef mixture over cooked white rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

For extra crunch, top with toasted sesame seeds or chopped peanuts.
