Ingredients

Noodles

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)

Beef

  • 8 oz flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)

Sauces & Seasonings

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium carrot (matchsticks)
  • 3 cups broccoli (cut into florets)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (light or mixed)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp Asian sesame oil

Instructions 

  • Cook noodles according to package instructions.
  • Marinate sliced beef in soy sauce and cornstarch for 5-10 minutes.
  • Stir-fry beef in hot oil until browned, then add garlic, carrots, and broccoli; cook until vegetables are tender.
  • Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and ginger to make the sauce.
  • Add cooked noodles to the skillet, toss with sauce, and drizzle with sesame oil. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, use a mix of light and dark soy sauces.
