This hearty beef brisket is slow-cooked to perfection with a rich, flavorful sauce, making it an easy and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1.75 kg beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (or tomato sauce for a lighter option)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and black pepper (for seasoning)
  • Optional Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F). Season brisket with salt and pepper, then sear until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté onion and garlic in the same pot until softened.
  • Add beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and paprika. Simmer briefly.
  • Return brisket to the pot, cover, and bake for 3–4 hours until fork-tender.
  • Shred or slice the brisket, spoon sauce over, and garnish with herbs. Serve with sides.

Notes

For best results, let the brisket rest before slicing.
