  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1.5 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 0.25 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1.5 cups toasted pecans, roughly chopped

Optional Maple Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 0.25 teaspoon maple extract (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
  • Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in maple syrup and vanilla.
  • Fold in flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
  • Spread batter in pan, sprinkle reserved pecans, and bake 28–35 minutes.
  • Cool completely, then whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over blondies.

Notes

For a richer flavor, toast the pecans before chopping.
